Emerson will acquire the remaining shares of AspenTech

U.S. technology company Emerson has announced its plan to acquire the remaining shares of software firm Aspen Technology (AspenTech) for $7.2 billion. Emerson will buy the shares it does not already own at a price of $265 per share.

The total value of the transaction is $7.2 billion. Emerson currently holds about 57% of AspenTech’s shares. After the deal closes, AspenTech will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emerson.

The acquisition is expected to complete in the first half of 2025. This move will significantly enhance Emerson’s growth strategy and strengthen its software portfolio.
